We Accept Most Insurance Carriers
CCWS is in network with the following insurance companies:***
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
- Medcost
- MediShare/PHCS
- Medicaid Direct
- Multiplan/PHCS
- United HealthCare
- Wellcare/Carolina Complete

***Please note some plans, especially those that are HMO or EPO plans (Blue Local and Blue Home among others) have very limited networks of physicians and we are NOT participating with these specific plans. Please verify Dr. Caroline Brown and Dr. Holly Hanes at The Children's Clinic of Winston Salem is in network prior to your first appoinitment.
Given these intricacies of insurance coverage and frequent changes to various plans, even if your insurance coverage is through a company listed above, we strongly recommend calling your insurance and/or checking their website to ensure our physicians are considered in network with your specific plan.
OTHER HELPFUL TIPS FOR NAVIGATING INSURANCE COVERAGE OF PEDIATRIC CARE:
- You must provide insurance coverage information prior to any office visit. Please have your card with you at each visit.
- If the child is covered by more than one policy, you must notify our team of all active policies. It is the parents' responsibility to confirm coordination of benefits if more than one policy is active. Failure to coordinate benefits with each insurance policy may cause claim denials resulting in charges becoming patient responsibility.
- Newborn babies need to be added to your insurance plan within 30 days to ensure coverage. After the 30 days, your insurance may not cover the child and you will be financially responsible for the cost of all care.
- If we are not a provider for your particular insurance plan, if you are not insured, or we do not file with your insurance company, you may be responsible for the entire charge but we offer a prompt pay discount for same day payment.
- Your insurance plan decides which benefits are covered in full, which apply to your annual deductible, and whether or not they will allow the benefit and pay for the service. Your doctor’s office does not make this decision. If your policy does not cover the service, you will be responsible for the full amount.
