Emergencies



IF AN EMERGENCY SHOULD ARISE, PLEASE CALL 911.

Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening like loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, etc.
We recommend seeking care at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Pediatric Emergency Room for care by pediatric trained staff and physicians.

Urgent Concerns


For questions when our office is closed, you have several options:


- ONLINE RESOURCES: If you are unsure about whether your child needs medical attention - our symptom checker can help. We also have an enitre library of articles available to our patients' families with detailed home care advice for a variety of medical issues.


- 24-HOUR NURSE LINE:  Utilize the nurse line on the back of your health insurance card. This is a free service.


- SECURE TEXT MESSAGING: Our HIPAA compliant text-messaging service is available daily. During our clinic hours, text messages are checked by our entire CCWS team. After hours texts are checked intermittently by the physician on call (2-3 times per day).


- HELLO PEDIATRICS:  We partner with Hello Pediatrics for after hours care for our patients. Hello Pediatrics is a group of Board-Certified pediatricians that provide 24/7 after-hours clinical support. They offer the option of calling, online chat, or telehealth visits (that may save you a trip to urgent care or Emergency department).
On weekdays after we close and on weekends 24/7 all urgent medical calls will be directed to the HelloPediatrics team for medical advice and the option for telemedicine visits with a pediatrician.


Telemedicine hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 5:00pm to Midnight
  • Saturdays & Sundays 12:00pm to 10:00pm
  • Holidays 12:00pm to Midnight


After a telemedicine visit with the HelloPediatrics team, your child's visit notes will be immediately forwarded directly to our CCWS staff who will offer follow-up and continuing care as needed.


Please note that Telehealth visits with the Hello Pediatrics team are billed to your health insurance (and they offer affordable cash pay pricing as well).

The standard after hours charges will apply for phone calls and texts for famiilies who are not participating in our Comprehensive Administrative Family Plan (see our financial policy for details).
